  • Lastly, a "defective run" of carpet from the mill could be the source of waves or buckling carpet.

Q. What is the process of carpet re-stretching service? How is it done?

  • Carpet stretching service is the process of pulling carpet tight with a power stretching tool by an experienced technician.
  • First, The Carpet Handyman will detach carpet from the tack strip along the appropriate wall or edge. This process is used for carpet that is already installed wall to wall or against other hard surface floor covering.
  • Next we extend the stretcher, and anchor the tail end of the tool on the opposite wall that was detached.
  • The unique lever on the tool allows a controlled stretch creating the best tension for your type of carpet.
  • Afterwards, the carpet is re-secured around the perimeter and trimmed to perfect length.

  • Today's carpet should only be installed (or re-stretched) via the use of a "power stretcher".
  • A power stretcher allows the technician controlled leverage to flatten carpet.
