How to prepare for professional carpet repair service

Once you have secured an appointment with the service provider to fix your damaged carpet. It is a good idea to unroll/fold the donor carpet that will be used to complete the repair. This will help the donor carpet lay flat as possible on repair day. 

Doing this soon as possible will also allow you to see the current condition of the donor carpet. Donor carpet stored for long period of times have a tendency to fade or discolor. Therefore, it is a good idea to know it's condition before the appointment date to eliminate any surprises. 

On appointment day ensure the area where the repair work will be done is clear of clutter and obstacles. This might involve moving shoes, clothes or other items in the work area. In addition, clearing items from work areas allows the technician space to freely work and complete the carpet repair. 

Keep in mind the technician will need space for freedom of leg movement, and tools of the trade. The room, hallway or closet requiring repair should be accessible without obstruction of people, pets or personal items.   

Lastly, vacuuming the work area to remove excessive debris prior to your technicians arrival is very helpful. 

Let the scheduler know of any special instructions needed to get on the property. 

On day of the appointment make sure the technician has access to the closest parking available. Keep in mind, the technician will need to bring tools and supplies from the service vehicle into the work area.
